1. Copyright & Ownership

RGB OBD (the Android application, its installer, its source code and every update to it) is protected by copyright law and international copyright treaties. We — or our licensors — own all right, title and interest in it, including:

• the application binary, installer package and all program code
• the fifteen gauge designs, dial faces, needles, animations, icons and other artwork
• the RGB OBD name, logo and visual identity
• the text, screenshots and layout of this website

Buying a licence does not transfer ownership of any of it. You receive the rights set out in section 2 and nothing more; all rights not expressly granted are reserved.

2. Your Licence — What You May Do

On payment, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use RGB OBD, for as long as you comply with this agreement. Under it you may:

• Use the app with the vehicle you licensed — the VIN you entered at checkout. One purchase licenses one vehicle.
• Install it on as many of your own Android devices as you like — head unit, tablet and phone. The licence counts vehicles, not devices or installs.
• Licence more vehicles by buying a licence for each. The same app holds them all and switches by VIN automatically.
• Move the licence when you change cars — deregister from the app's settings and register the new VIN. Transfers are protected by a device link created at first registration, so only your own device can move a licence.
• Use it privately or commercially in your own vehicle — a work ute, a delivery van or a fleet car you operate is fine, provided each vehicle holds its own licence.
• Keep a personal backup copy of the installer for your own re-installs.

The licence is perpetual: it does not expire, there is no subscription, and it keeps working offline. Unregistered copies may be used indefinitely in demo mode, which is also governed by this agreement.

3. How the App Is Distributed

RGB OBD is not on the Play Store. The only official source of the installer is this website:

• the public download link, https://obd.rgbwars.com/download, and
• the personal download page linked in your purchase email, which you can return to at any time.

The installer is deliberately free to download, because the app is locked to the VIN register until it is registered against a licensed vehicle — downloading it is not the same as being licensed to use it. Sharing the link is welcome; sharing the file is not. Pointing a friend, forum or club at the pages above is encouraged, and it also guarantees they get the current, untampered build.

Updates are distributed the same way: download the newer APK and install it over the top — your registration stays intact. We only ever publish builds signed with our own signing key; a copy obtained anywhere else may have been modified and is not supported.

4. What You May Not Do

Without our prior written permission, you may not:

• Re-host or mirror the installer — no uploading it to APK sites, app stores, file lockers, torrents, cloud drives or forums, and no serving it from your own site.
• Sell, rent, lease, lend or sublicense the app or a vehicle licence, or transfer a licence to another person.
• Bundle it with a head unit, adapter, vehicle, installation service or any other product you sell — see section 5 if that's what you want to do.
• Modify, repack, re-sign, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, or create derivative works from it, except to the extent the law expressly permits despite this restriction.
• Circumvent the VIN licensing, patch out registration, or share credentials, licence tokens or download links belonging to a purchase that is not yours.
• Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark or ownership notice in the app, the installer or its documentation.
• Reuse our artwork or branding — the gauge designs, icons, screenshots, name and logo — in your own app, product listing or marketing.

Using the app for a vehicle that holds no licence, on a build obtained from anywhere but the official source, is a breach of this agreement even if the app happens to run.

5. Installers, Workshops & Resellers

Fitting head units, building fleet vehicles or selling adapters, and want RGB OBD to be part of it? That's exactly the case section 4 asks you to talk to us about first — we're happy to arrange it, including multi-vehicle licensing and a supported way to install the app for your customers. Contact us and tell us what you need. Setting a customer up with their own licence, bought in their name and registered to their VIN, never needs permission.

6. Third-Party Names & Trademarks

RGB OBD is an independent product. Names used on this site and in the app identify the hardware and standards the app works with, and imply no affiliation with or endorsement by their owners:

• Android and Google Play are trademarks of Google LLC.
• Vgate and vLinker are trademarks of their respective owner; adapters are sold separately by third parties and we are not affiliated with them.
• ELM327 is a trademark of Elm Electronics; Bluetooth is a trademark of Bluetooth SIG, Inc.
• Vehicle makes, models and badges shown in screenshots belong to their manufacturers and are used only to describe compatibility.

OBD-II is an open industry standard; RGB OBD reads it, and nothing in this agreement claims ownership of the standard or of the data your car reports.

7. Your Data Stays Yours

We claim no ownership of your driving data. Gauges, trips, fuel figures, timing runs, diagnostic scans and settings are created on your device and stay there — the app has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and never uploads them. The Privacy Policy sets out the short list of things the app does send when registering or transferring a licence.

8. Breach & Termination

This licence ends automatically if you materially breach it — most obviously by redistributing the app or defeating the VIN licensing. On termination you must stop using RGB OBD and delete every copy you hold. We may also deregister a VIN whose licence was obtained fraudulently or charged back. Sections 1, 4, 6 and 9 survive termination. Ending a licence for breach does not limit any other remedy available to us, including for copyright infringement.

9. Warranty, Liability & Governing Law

Except for rights that cannot be excluded by law, RGB OBD is licensed "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from its use, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the licence. The app displays information and does not control your vehicle — you remain responsible for driving safely and legally.

This agreement is governed by the laws of Australia. Nothing in it limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection laws.

10. This Agreement & the Terms of Service

This licence covers the app itself: ownership, what your purchase grants, and how the installer may be passed on. Buying, refunds, hardware compatibility and use of this website are covered by the Terms of Service; where the two overlap, this agreement governs the app. We may update it from time to time and the version on this page applies — but changes never take away a licence you have already bought.

11. Permissions & Reporting Misuse

To request distribution permission, ask about commercial or fleet licensing, or report a copy of RGB OBD being sold or hosted somewhere it shouldn't be, contact us.
