RGB OBD
Terms of Service
Last updated: 9 August 2026
1. What You're Buying
RGB OBD is an Android application sold as a one-time purchase. Each purchase licenses one vehicle, identified by the VIN you enter at checkout. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. The installer is distributed from this website (not an app store) and can be re-downloaded from your purchase page at any time.
The app is licensed, not sold: you buy the right to use it, while the app, its gauge designs and its artwork remain our copyright. The full Licence & Copyright agreement sets out what your licence grants and how the installer may be passed on.
2. The Vehicle Licence
- The licence is issued to the VIN you provide at checkout, so double-check it matches your car — the app reads the VIN from the vehicle itself when registering.
- You may install the app on as many of your own Android devices as you like; the licence counts vehicles, not devices.
- One licence covers one vehicle. Own several cars? Each needs its own licence — one app then holds them all and switches automatically.
- When you change cars you can transfer the licence yourself from the app's settings (deregister, then register the new VIN). Transfers are protected by a device link created at first registration, so only your own device can move a licence.
3. What You May Not Do
- Resell, rent out or redistribute the app or a licence
- Re-host, mirror or upload the installer anywhere else — link to the official download page instead, which is free for anyone to use
- Bundle the app with a head unit, adapter or installation service you sell, without our written permission
- Circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, the VIN registration system
- Reverse-engineer, repack, re-sign or modify the app, except where the law expressly permits it
- Remove copyright notices, or reuse the RGB OBD name, logo, gauge designs or artwork
These restrictions are set out in full — along with the copyright notice and the rules on distribution — in the Licence & Copyright agreement.
4. Hardware & Compatibility
The app requires Android 8.0 or newer and a Bluetooth OBD-II adapter (it is built and tested with the Vgate vLinker MC+; other ELM327-compatible adapters generally work). The adapter is sold separately by third parties — we are not affiliated with Vgate.
OBD-II exposes the standardised emissions and powertrain data set, and what a car reports varies by make, model and year — not every reading (for example fuel level or boost) is available on every vehicle. The free demo mode shows every feature before you buy, and you're welcome to ask us about your car first.
5. Use It With Your Eyes on the Road
RGB OBD displays information; it does not control the vehicle. You are responsible for operating your car safely and legally — set the app up while parked, and treat its readings and alerts as an aid, not a substitute for the vehicle's own instruments and warning lights. Clearing diagnostic trouble codes resets your car's emissions readiness monitors; the app tells you this before it does it.
6. Refunds
Because the licence activates a specific vehicle, refunds are handled case by case: if the app genuinely won't work with your car and we can't fix it together, we'll make it right. Contact us with your order details. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection laws.
7. Warranty & Liability
Except for rights that cannot be excluded by law, the app is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from its use. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the licence.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page applies. Changes never take away a licence you've already bought.
